Board Members

Becky retired from Tektronix after serving in the product export arena, currently co-owner of Melbeck Enterprises. She is a charter member of the Banks Lions Club currently serving as Club Treasurer; serving on the Patient Care Committee of the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation and has served in several local & district offices as well. A member of Banks Sunset Park Association, she is currently serving on its Board. She is a graduate of the Ford Family Foundation Institute for Community Building's Leadership Class of 2004. She enjoys hand work, candle making, reading and photography.


Denise is the secretary/treasurer at Bighorn Logging located in Banks. She grew up in Forest Grove before attending the University of Oregon where she earned a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication, with a minor in English. She currently serves as the Chair of the Banks Community Foundation's Board of Directors. Denise has also participated in all of the classes offered in Banks by the Ford Family Foundation, is a graduate of the Ford Leadership Class of 2004 and has helped as a community trainer. She and her husband, Ruben Trevino, live in Vernonia with their dog, Perrie.


Denise is the Director of the Banks Public Library. She has lived in Oregon since 1991, and in the Banks Community since 1992. Denise is a founding member of the Banks Community Foundation, currently serving on the Board as Treasurer. She has been part of all classes offered to the Banks community by the Ford Family Foundation's Ford Institute Leadership Program, is a graduate of the Class of 2004 and has participated as a Community Trainer in the second and third leadership trainings. She is also a graduate of the Luke Institute's Pacific Program for Civic Leaders, Class of 2006. She and her husband, Doug Stenger, live in Manning with their Shelties Lexie and Pia, cats Yoda and Suzu, and assorted chickens and koi.


Margaret and her husband moved to Banks, Oregon in 1999. Margaret grew up on Long Island, New York;attended George Washington University in Washington DC. She served in the Peace Corps in Antigua, British West Indies. She moved to Alaska with her husband Jack in 1972. She retired from the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in 1998. Her community activism stems from her long time membership in the League of Women Voters. She has served on the City of Banks Planning Commission, and on the Board of the League of Women Voters of Washington Co. Margaret is a graduate of the Ford Institute for Community Building's Leadership Class of 2004.  She is a founding member of the Banks Community Foundation Board and holds the position of Secretary. She is also a member of the Friends of the Banks Public Library Board, and currently serves as Secretary. Margaret and her husband Jack have one daughter living in Portland. Besides family activities, she loves to travel and garden.


Mel is a retired Manufacturing Process Engineer from Maxtek Components Corporation in Beaverton, currently co-owner of Melbeck Enterprises. He is a charter member of the Banks Lions Club, serving as Charter President, subsequently holding many local & District offices. He is serving on the Board of Banks Sunset Park Association as immediate Past President. He is a graduate of the Ford Institute for Community Building's Leadership Class of 2004. Mel holds a B.S in Physics from Portland State University. He enjoys woodworking, hiking, the outdoors, and hand work.
