Denise Dethlefs

Chair | Vernonia, OR

Denise is the Secretary/Treasurer of Bighorn Logging located in Banks. She grew up in Forest Grove before attending the University of Oregon where she earned a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication, with a minor in English. She serves on the board of the Banks Community Foundation. Denise participated in all of the classes offered in Banks by The Ford Family Foundation and helped as a community trainer. She and her husband, live outside Vernonia.

 

Mel Clark

Vice-Chair | Manning, OR

Mel is a retired Manufacturing Process Engineer from Maxtek Components Corporation in Beaverton, currently co-owner of Melbeck Enterprises.  He is a charter member of the Banks Lions Club, serving as Charter President, subsequently holding many local & District offices.  He is a member of the Banks Sunset Park Association.   Mel holds a B.S in Physics from Portland State University.  He enjoys woodworking, hiking, the outdoors, and handwork. 


Denise Holmes

Treasurer | Manning, OR

Denise is the Director of the Banks Public Library.  She has lived in Oregon for the past 32 years, and in the Banks Community for the last 31 years.  Denise is a founding member of the Banks Community Foundation, currently serving on the Board as Treasurer.   She has been part of all classes offered to the Banks Community by the Ford Family Foundation’s Ford Institute Leadership Program, including having participated as a Community Trainer in the second and third leadership trainings.  She is also a graduate of the Luke Institute’s Pacific Program for Civic Leaders, Class of 2006.  She continues to be active in Ford Rural Community Building activities. Denise and her husband, Doug Stenger, live in Manning with their two cats, Suzu and Yoda, and assorted chickens and koi. 

 

Margaret Holland

Secretary | Banks, OR

Margaret and her husband moved to Banks, Oregon in 1999.  Margaret grew up on Long Island, New York; attended the George Washington University in Washington DC.  She served in the Peace Corp in Antigua, British West Indies.  She moved to Alaska with her husband Jack in 1972.  She retired from the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities in 1998. Her community activism stems from her long-time membership in the League of Women Voters.  She has served on the City of Banks Planning Commission, and on the Board of the League of Women Voters of Washington Co.   She is a founding member of the Banks Community Foundation Board and holds the position of Board Secretary.   She is also a member of the Banks Friends of the Library Board.  Margaret and her husband Jack have one daughter living in Portland.  Besides family activities, she loves to travel and garden. 


Becky Clark

Member-at-Large | Manning

Becky retired from Tektronix after serving in the product export arena, currently co-owner of Melbeck Enterprises.  She is a charter member of the Banks Lions Club; serving on the Patient Care Committee of the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation and has served in several local & District offices as well; a member of the Banks Sunset Park Association; a member of the Banks Chamber of Commerce.  She enjoys handwork, candle making, reading, and photography. 

 

Raini Hale

Member-at-Large | Hillsboro

Raini has worked at Banks Veterinary Service since 2005 as a veterinary assistant and office manager. She also owns her own business in the health and wellness field, and loves working with both animals and humans. She has many friends and family members in the Banks area and enjoys attending many community events with them. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is spending time with her husband and their Bullmastiff, McClane.

Candii Dana

Member-at-Large | Gales Creek

Candii has spent close to 30 years in the healthcare industry building educational, health, and wellness award-winning programs. She is currently working with digital therapeutics to enhance the lives of those with chronic conditions and caregivers of veterans. She and her family have lived and participated as active members in the Banks community for 30 years with very strong ties to the Banks Public Library. She and her husband Gordon have farmed organic garlic on their small farm and participated at many farmers’ markets for the past 22 years. Their daughter KJ, knows she does not want to be a garlic farmer. In her spare time, she loves cross-stitching, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
